SINGAPORE GUIDE

Free Museums in Singapore

Some museums and galleries in Singapore offer free admission to selected visitors or to selected galleries. Eligibility differs by institution, so check the official admission page before travelling.

Who may qualify for free admission?

The National Heritage Board states that Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents enjoy free admission to NHB museums and heritage institutions year-round. This does not mean every gallery, special exhibition or museum in Singapore is free to every visitor.

National Museum of Singapore

The museum’s official visitor information says Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents receive free admission to its permanent galleries; foreign visitors may need to pay. Opening hours, special exhibitions and eligibility can change, so verify before visiting.

Before you go

  • Confirm whether free entry applies to your residency or citizenship status.
  • Check whether the offer covers permanent galleries only or also special exhibitions.
  • Look for advance booking, identification or timed-entry requirements.
  • Check the museum’s official page for current hours and temporary closures.
